God Is Not A Reproachable Cynic

Ephesians 3:12 “In Him and through faith in Him, we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”

Has there ever been anyone in your life that you hesitated to talk to? Maybe there has been someone you knew or know now who very condemning and belligerent or indifferent towards you and you hate to approach them because you know you will be setting yourself up for more hurt and frustration. Unfortunately, with God we've set ourselves up for hurt and frustration because of the sinful state of our hearts. We can't even begin to approach Him. It's not that He doesn't love us but rather that He is so Holy that He can’t even look at our ugly, putrid state. Yet, because of His love for us, He gave His only Son, Jesus, as a sacrificial offering to die on the cross for the sins of the world and the Bible says that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead then we can now approach God with freedom and confidence. Jesus’ death on the cross bridged the gap for all eternity that if we believe in Him, we have full access to the Throne of Grace. As Believers, God literally sits waiting for us to commune with Him. He longs for us to include Him in every part of our lives. He wants us to know Him deeply and understand all of who He is. We are free to come into His presence any time of the day or night and we won’t be turned away or condemned. I don’t know about you but that is such a relief and it refreshes my soul. I’ve come to realize that since my salvation, when I approach Him I’m not setting myself up for disappointment and destruction. In Him I find safety, shelter, peace, assurance, no regrets, acceptance, unconditional love, joy accountability, deliverance, grace, mercy, help, guidance, direction and I could go on and on. God is not a reproachable cynic but rather an approachable Savior who is the lover of our souls!

_____________

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the sacrificial gift of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for caring enough and loving us enough to make it possible for us to be able to come before you! We are so undeserving of Your gift let alone to be able to come into Your presence. We stand in awe and amazement at the depths of Your love. You alone are the All Mighty King of Kings and we adore You. Your name is matchless and deserving of our praise. Your ways are perfect and Your plans are complete. Help us to never question Your authority or disgrace Your name. Blessed be the One who reigns on High and has everything under control.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
