The Greatest Love Of All Time

Romans 10:14-15 "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news."

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ then I'm assuming that at one time or another you heard the gospel and accepted and received the "Greatest Love of All Time"! The Greek word for gospel actually means that this news is too good to be true. When something is too good to be true, it usually is; however, this is not the case when it comes to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This news is GREAT, it's life changing and absolutely unfathomable!

Paul understood the transforming power of this gift of love and his life was a testimony to what the power of God can do in the life of a sinner. He literally lived out the message of the gospel for the rest of his days telling all who would listen about the love of Christ and the power of His resurrection. He was not ashamed of the gospel.

In Romans 10;14 Paul reminds us that this precious news of reconciliation to God must be passed on to others before it's power can be released. People can not call on someone that they have not believed in, they can not believe in someone that they have not heard of and they can not hear without someone first telling them. And here, my friends, is where you and I come in to play. God has entrusted us with the very words that give life and Jesus has commanded us to be the feet of those who bring this great news to all who will listen. He doesn't need us, but He wants to use us in His remarkable redemptive plan. What a privilege!

Years ago, because of my shyness, the thought of speaking to others literally paralyzed me. One afternoon as I read my devotional for the day this scripture jumped off the page. "I am the Lord your God who led you out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it." His message to me couldn't have been any clearer than that. I leaned my head back, memorized that scripture and promised the Lord He could use me wherever and whenever He desired. The funniest thing about that experience is that the phone rang when I opened my eyes and it was the lady in charge of our women's ministry at the time asking me to speak. I had made a promise to God and I had to say yes. Praise be to God, He has loosed my tongue to go forth and boldly share when I have opportunity. All He asks of us is the willingness to share and He promises to take care of the rest.

On this Valentine's Day I challenge you to share the undying, incomprehensible love of Jesus Christ with whomever you have opportunity! Let God use your beautiful feet to share "The Greatest Love Of All Time"!

Dear Jesus,

Oh how we love you and are reminded every day just how much you love us. You wouldn't have had to give your life to redeem us; however, you willingly choose too. Your sacrificial gift is the greatest gift of all time and we're thankful beyond measure for you grace and mercy. We surrender to this calling to share this great love to the world and we ask that You show us what that looks like in the midst of where you have stationed us right now. May Your name be high and lifted up!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
