He Paves The Way

Deuteronomy 31:8-9 "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Galations 5 :25 "Since we live by the Spirit let us keep in step with the Spirit."
Those of you that know me personally know that I am not much of an outdoor person. I don’t mind being outside for a picnic, horse ride or something fun for a day but as far as camping or roughing it goes, that truly pains me. I don’t enjoy the bug population or having to walk through dense brush and fighting with nature. It’s at those times that I appreciate my endearing husband going before me to pave the way, to free our path from unyielding tree branches or wild, scratchy brush.
What a comfort to know that the Lord, Himself, goes before us to pave the way for whatever lies ahead. We must; therefore, live by the Spirit and keep up with what He is doing in our lives. We don’t have to fear what’s coming because He has already addressed it. He has already broken those disrupting tree branches, removed those invasive thorns and cleared a path for us to walk. That doesn’t mean that the path will be without challenges, it just means that He has gone ahead, knows exactly what we will be facing and will enable and equip us for the task. (NO NEED TO FEAR AS THE LORD, GOD IS HERE) And along with that truth, we know that He will be in the throngs of the turmoil with us and we don’t have to go at it all alone. Our God is our comfort and our shield and in the world today, with all that is taking place, that gives me peace. Nothing can happen to us or in us unless the Lord allows it to for whatever reason or plan He has in mind.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to guide us daily, moment by moment and minute by minute so that Your fruit will emerge in our lives and be recognized by others. Help us each to keep in step with You so that our choices and our daily interactions with people will bring a great harvest for the Kingdom. We want to bring You glory in all that we say and do. If there is any way within us that is not pleasing to You, please uncover it and makes us aware so we can go about making changes to rid our lives of whatever it may be that is not of You. We love You! Help us to boldly sing Your praises so that the rocks will not have to cry out in Your defense!
