Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Psalm 68:34 “Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the heavens.”
Deep in your heart, way down in your soul, what do you believe about the power of God? Do you believe that He can change your circumstances? Do you believe that He can heal a broken marriage? Do you believe that He can restore a broken relationship? Do you believe that He hears our prayers? Do you believe that He can provide what is needed? Do you believe that He can bring comfort in the midst of pain? God can do all these things and so much more; however, His ways are not our ways and His plans are not usually our plans. Our family has seen first hand over the last few months how God has provided not only for our mother but for my siblings and I as well in His way and His timing, not ours.
My Sunday School Class, close friends and the ladies in my Bible Study have been praying for some time now that my mother would agree to move into an independent living situation where she would have contact with people and very little responsibilities. She was growing more and more afraid to be alone, was falling deeper and deeper into a depression and was increasingly being limited by her physical inactivity. She wasn't open to moving and we were growing very concerned. All of a sudden circumstances presented an opportunity for her to move into an apartment in an independent living situation close to my brother with all her expenses paid for the rest of her life. God orchestrated it all and was preparing behind the scenes for her to do this for years and we had no idea. It was a too good to be true situation that she couldn't refuse and she made up her mind on her own to move. Not only did God provide a safe home for her but he provided people to spend time with, activities to increase her physical exercise, all new furniture for the apartment and everything she will need to make it a home. All I can say is that God has given us a miracle. We are all blown away by His goodness and His faithfulness to her.
I love these precious little words . . . BUT GOD. My mother's situation was looking so bleak, BUT GOD in His mercy changed her whole situation in the blink of an eye. We are so undeserving of this blessing . He has graciously provided above and beyond anything we could ever imagine or plan ourselves. Not only did He provide what was needed but amazingly, He gave her so much more and has given us comfort in knowing that she is taken care of. All I can say is WOW! Praise be to Jehovah Jireh, my God who provides. His power is great and His ways incomprehensible!
Our journey with God may take us to some unexpected and uncomfortable places but we have to be patient and trust that He is working on our behalf and has our best interest at heart. This family miracle has increased my faith exponentially and reminded me to live each day in expectation of what God will reveal or how He will heal amidst all that we're facing.

Dear Lord,
We know that we are called according to your purpose but sometimes we grow weary. We grow weary of life and all that we are having to deal with. There are times when we would like to just curl up in a ball and sleep while the world carries on. Please give us strength to ford through all that is happening to us and around us. Help us to trust in You as you lead us and guide us according to Your will. May Your peace be evident in our lives and may we radiate Your likeness at all times so that others may catch a glimpse of who You are. When our hearts are broken would You please bring comfort in the midst of the pain and bring healing in the devastation. You alone can calm the raging sea so please calm the raging emotions that flood our souls. All majesty and glory are Yours now and forever.
Amen
