John 14:5 “If you love me, show it by doing what I’ve told you. I will talk to the Father, and he’ll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. This Friend is the Spirit of Truth. The godless world can’t take Him in because it doesn’t have eyes to see Him, doesn’t know what to look for. But you know Him already because He has been staying with you, and will even be in you!" (MSG)
I was thinking this morning about our call to be obedient to the Lord. He tells us in His Word that He knows that we love Him when we obey Him. God is not as concerned with the outcome because He already knows the outcome of our lives. He is more concerned with our moment by moment obedience. That is the goal, that we live our lives so attuned to Him that there is no departure from His plans.
When we focus only on the future I think that we lose sight of what He is doing in the here and now or what opportunities He is presenting to us today. Don’t get me wrong, planning is essential; however, if we are so focused on our own plans that we miss God’s plans and purposes then we are not paying attention to the present. Oswald Chambers reminds us that when we live our lives in moment by moment obedience, then each moment becomes precious.
We don't want to miss one single valuable precious moment so let's dig into God's Word and consistently seek Him first in all things and reject the things of the world. Let's constantly be looking for where God is working so we can join Him and avoid any detours that evil one is putting into place. Oh the abundance of the goodness of the Lord!

As we go about this day that you’ve allowed us to experience, please help us to move moment by moment in Your presence living to please You. Help us to knowingly make ourselves available for You to use at every turn. Cover us with Your armour and as we step out into unknown territories, protect us from the evil one. Give us a Holy boldness to move and breath and make an impact wherever You lead. As your children, we go forth re-presenting all of who You are to a nation of people who have lost their way. Empower us to be all that You need us to be each and every moment throughout the day.
