Ambassadors Stationed On Earth

2 Corinthians 5:20 "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."

Often people are in a quandary as to what God’s will for their life is. To me, the Bible is very clear. 2 Corinthians tells us that we are Christ’s ambassadors which means that we are stationed here on earth to literally re-present Christ wherever we are and in whatever we are doing. Maybe I’ve simplified it too much; however, I truly believe that this is true. We have to make many decisions in life about our education and our occupation and God does guide us in those decisions if we ask Him. I’m not suggesting that these choices are unimportant but I am suggesting that God is more interested in what we do with Him in the choices that we make more than the actually choices themselves. In other words, God is more interested in what we do with Him while we are teaching than that we are a teacher or that he is more interested in what we do with Him in our parenting than that we are a parent.

As an Ambassador of the Kingdom, we are an advocate for Jesus! We’ve chosen Him as King, we’re serving Him, and we are proclaiming to the world that He is the Messiah! So, wherever you have any type of influence, wherever people respect you, wherever people trust you, wherever people listen to you, He asks that you become His ambassador and that you re-present Him. We are not to be quiet so as not to offend. We are to live out our faith and speak on Christ’s behalf in order to advocate for Him. This can be difficult at times especially if it involves family; however, He has called us to be the light in the midst of the darkness that is all around us. He is the answer to every situation and He’s chosen us and given us the highest privilege of re-presenting Him to others. Our Challenge: Love people where they are at while exemplifying Him at all times and re-presenting Jesus at every opportunity.

Personalize this prayer.

Dear Jesus,

Help me to rest in Your plans and be available for You to use me at all times. Give me a willingness to share whenever an opportunity presents itself and may I be so enthusiastic and joyful that it causes others to wonder what I'm all about. You’ve called me to be peculiar and I pray that I would become so peculiar that it would be obviously noticeable to others. You’ve given of Yourself for me, help me to give of myself for You!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
