The Rubber-Legged Ducky by John G. Keller

Duck Five is different than all the other ducklings. He doesn't quack, and he never waddles. Instead, he bounces. And bing-boings! Being different isn't always easy for Five, but boy oh boy, having an extra spring and s-t-r-e-t-c-h in his step sure comes in handy when an unwelcome (and hungry) visitor comes in their midst.  I love the lesson in this story.  Being different is a valuable gift.

The Book That Has No Pictures by B.J. Novak

A #1 New York Times bestseller, this innovative and wildly funny read-aloud by award-winning humorist/actor B.J. Novak will turn any reader into a comedian.  You might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious. Except . . . here’s how this book works. Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it and our grandchildren just couldn't stop laughing.  This book is one of their all time favorites.

Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots? by Mike and Carl Gordon

Every inquisitive little girl wonders what it is really like to be a genuine princess. At the heart of Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots? lives an energetic, spirited, and contemporary child who has lots of important questions for her mom. Do princesses ride tricycles, climb trees, do chores, or have to eat the crusts of their bread? The mother's voice is timelessly reassuring as she answers her daughter's questions and advises her that being like a princess has to do with what we are on the inside. This heart-warming book has engaged our granddaughters on countless occasions.  It teaches sweet lessons in self acceptance and will inspire little girls to follow their passions.

Love You Forever by Robert Munsch and Sheila McGraw

This book is one of MY all-time favorites. I cry every time I read it.... It is a beautiful little story about parenthood, a moving parable about life and death, and an illustration personifying when the roles of a child and parent become blurry.

Giraffe's Can't Dance by Giles Andreae

Giraffes Can't Dance is a touching tale of Gerald the giraffe, who wants nothing more than to dance. With crooked knees and thin legs, it's harder for a giraffe than you would think. Gerald is finally able to dance to his own tune when he gets some encouraging words from an unlikely friend.  This book will keep the little ones laughing and then celbrating Giraffe's accomplishment!

You're Here For A Reason by Nancy Tillman

This sweet book not only reminds children that they are loved, but also that they matter. In this tender and timeless read-along book, Tillman reminds us of this message in beautiful illustrations as children and animals interact with acts of kindness.

Ricky, The Rock That Couldn't Roll

Get ready to meet a new rock group! From zippy, little pebbles to big strong boulders, the rocks get together to play and roll around their favorite hill, only to find that one of their friends, Ricky, can't roll with them. Unlike all of the others, who are all round, Ricky can't roll because he's flat on one side.
